Post-CNN Debate Straw Poll was a Sham; Ron Paul Supporter Threatened

As reported by St. Petersburg Times last week, Mitt Romney used his personal finances to buy himself another straw poll win, this time after the Youtube/CNN debate that consisted of around 1,500 possible votes cast. Organizers allowed people to buy tickets in bulk, with each ticket costing $20. The majority of Romney votes came from people funded by him and campaign, and many voted upwards to 20 times, probably more. The establishment candidates can't come close to the enthusiasm and momentum of Ron Paul, so the only way for them to win is to buy it with cold hard money. They don't have our interests in mind, so any person conspiring with these candidates like this is equally responsible for their actions. Some Ron Paul supporters allegedly voted extra also, but one would have to wonder if it was because of what they knew. Romney managed to buy up 893 votes even though the crowd was clearly of a Ron Paul majority, and Paul came in second with 534.

Now an attendee has come out and disclosed more wrongdoing by the event organizers. It turns out that county chairman of the REC Tony DiMatteo, a Giuliani supporter, doesn't want to play by the rules, mimicking the utter disrespect for the law by candidates like Giuliani and Romney. Apparently DiMatteo didn't want the public finding out about the complete fraud of this event, so when a Ron Paul supporter decided to call him up to discuss it, he threatened her. His words: "It's too bad for you, and if you start any trouble you will be hurt." The leader of the local Ron Paul Meetup group later told her when called that the same thing had happened to him before the event. There is only one thing Giuliani supporters hate more than the constitution, and that's Ron Paul supporters. Coincidentally, Ron Paul's fourth quarter fundraising has already surpassed both Giuliani and Romney, and the big fundraising drive in 2 weeks has yet to even happen.

Mitt Romney bought himself a victory in the straw poll for Republicans at a rain-shortened barbecue in Vinoy Park.

Romney got 893 votes, besting second-place Ron Paul's 534 -- despite Paul's shuttling in supporters on a rented trolley and shuttle. The campaign had a plane sporting pro-Paul slogans and a boat touting him, too.

In fact, Paul supporters dominated the crowd, which reached an estimated 1,000 people. Tickets for votes cost $20 each.

So how did Romney do it?

"I voted 20 times," Derek Gyongzois, 38, of St. Petersburg exclaimed after casting ballots.

He said he works as a volunteer for the Romney campaign (and begged a reporter not to print his 20-vote tally). Did he buy the tickets?

"I don't have that kind of money," Gyongzois said.

He wasn't the only person voting more than once. Paul supporter Mike Wagner, 57, of St. Petersburg: "This thing is rigged."

Before rain cut short the event, Paul supporters were voting multiple times, too.

"This is the best election money can buy, anywhere," said Pinellas County GOP chairman Tony DiMatteo, a Rudy Giuliani supporter. Giuliani received 39 votes, followed by Mike Huckabee's 37 and Fred Thompson's 21. John McCain had 12; Duncan Hunter, 4, Alan Keyes, 2; and Tom Tancredo, 1.

Ron Paul Dominates Recent Zogby Poll

A Zogby poll sponsored by Alex Jones' media company Jones Productions was done last week, and there were two separate polls. All were blind bio polls, which means they don't name any names, and simply recite each candidate's resume and views. One was done featuring calls to likely voters that are staunchly Republican, which means many whom foolishly want us in Iran, and still believe in what they've heard the past 6 years from their government about 'terrorists' and the like. Giuliani won that poll of 389 folks with 34%, with Ron Paul coming in at 13%, and 9% who were undecided.

The other poll repeated the echoes of Paul's increasing momentum, and was a mixture of 1009 voters featuring everyone from Republicans, Democrats, and independents. Paul won that with 33%, and next was Giuliani with 19%; 20% were undecided. This is significant because the typical Zogby and other phone polls done targeting likely Republican voters usually involve older folks that are really set in their ways, and don't exactly look at the big scheme of things. They are also part of the age group that have gotten the country into this mess, but that is another story. The older phone poll crowd also historically fails to show up big at the primaries, and lack of enthusiasm in other Republican candidates works very well in Paul's favor. Zogby decided to highlight the smaller poll of older conservatives in their article and on their main website, but it can be noted as always that Ron Paul supporters are located all over the political spectrum, and the opposition knows that they can't count on anyone from the Paul side to not show up come primary time. Jones plans to sponsor at least one other set of blind bio polls in the near future.

McCain Thinks He Has the Best Chance to Beat Clinton

John McCain put a transparent spin on things in front of a crowd of clueless voters in New Hampshire Sunday. A total flip-flopper himself, he tried to make it look like a good thing in front of people that have never cared enough to know the truth about their country's government. He called Hillary Clinton out on swaying to the "more popular" side of important issues, including swaying back and forth on Iran. McCain made further attempts to make continuing Bush's horrid policies seem somehow reasonable, something Clinton's campaign staff pointed out, but didn't care to mention that she will be guilty of the same thing. They are both out for a neocon foreign policy, and Clinton is even increasing her popularity and support from leading neocons. McCain also talks up just recently being endorsed by traitorous failed 9/11 commissioner Thomas Kean. Yes, McCain is certainly one to lead America. Into war and economic suicide.

"I didn't seek public office to go along, to get along," McCain said, trying to remind voters of the "maverick" label that helped him defeat then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush in New Hampshire in 2000. "I went to Washington to get something done for the people who sent me there. And since then, I know I've made some people angry."

McCain said Democratic candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton has done everything she can to land on the popular side of most issues.

"On the one hand, Senator Clinton says we can't abandon Iraq to al-Qaida and the influence of Iran. On the other, she wants a firm deadline for withdrawal that would do just that," McCain said. "Senator Clinton rejected unconditional talks with Iran, but now says she would negotiate with no preconditions."

"I'm the conservative Republican with the best chance of defeating Senator Clinton, or whomever the Democrats nominate, and take on the challenges that confront us," the Arizona Republican said. "I'm as committed today as when I first put on the uniform of our country to the cause that has been the work of my life: the interests and ideals of our country."

John Bolton Hopes Americans Will Choose Another President with a Neocon Foreign Policy

John Bolton says that American voters should have foreign policy at the top of their list of demands for their choice of president. He wishes for another administration that will stray further away from our national interests, and seems to really think that neocons still have any legitimate support base in this country. He certainly doesn't want to realize that a majority of Americans want a total 180 in our foreign policy, and with his pushing that priority down our throats will only have the opposite effect on what he wishes would happen. He is right that next year's election will have a large bearing on our foreign policy, but if the actual majority of citizens vote with any sort of sense, it won't be what he has in mind.

Bolton said the next president will have to cope with countries seeking to acquire weapons of mass destruction, countries that already have nuclear weapons and long-term policy challenges from the rise of China and India and the resurgence of Russia with oil at $90 a barrel.

"The way the American president deals with China I think will have a major impact on how China sees itself and continues to evolve," Bolton said.

He said that in continuing the war against terrorists and dealing with the threats of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the U.S. currently faces many challenges.

"These are acute threats to the United States and our friends and allies around the world," Bolton said.

Talking about the debate over President Bush's policy in Iraq, he said, "we lose sight that the president's decision to overthrow Saddam Hussein has brought the United States to an enormous strategic victory."

He said that the invasion of Iraq brought an end to the dictatorship.

"This regime was a threat to the United States," said Bolton, who added that the U.S. surge policy in Iraq is working and the level of violence is down.

Talking about Iran's alleged pursuit of nuclear weapons, he said that unless the U.S. is prepared to accept an Iran with such capabilities, the time for diplomacy is over. He said one option is a regime change in Iran and the other is a last resort of targeted use of military force against Iran's nuclear program.

Giuliani Does What he Does Best: Lies and Laughs it Off

Rudolph Giuliani has been dodging and lying his way out of questions dealing with his long-time criminal partner in crime Bernie Kerik being indicted on numerous charges last week. I am not sure who he thinks he is talking to when a person asks a question in a key early state about yet another lawsuit linking him. Certainly not a clueless voter that is void of any information dealing with Giuliani's past.

Say what you will about selfish Judith Regan, but she's definitely never shied away from speaking her mind and telling the truth when it is effecting her personally. Now when Giuliani says that Regan's idea that Rupert Murdoch's empire tried to silence her by firing and downgrading her public image, fearing that because of her close relations with Kerik in the past that she could unleash secrets about Giuliani was more appropriate for the gossip columns, who are you inclined to believe? Someone with nothing to lose, or a chronic liar with everything to lose? Like he repeatedly does when faced with an apparition, he laughed the question off on a campaign stop in Iowa Wednesday. He went on to actually claim he knows nothing about it AFTER he tried to paint it off as gossip, and we've heard that one before from this guy. He is having a pretty tough time as of late to not get caught in a web. Liar Liar Liar.

Judith Regan claimed Rudy Giuliani's cronies tried to silence her; now the presidential hopeful wants to sideline her to the gossip columns.

The Republican candidate said Wednesday the publishing queen's bombshell $100 million suit was no more than salacious tittle-tattle.

"It sounds to me like a kind of gossip column story more than a real story," he said on a campaign stop in Iowa.

"The last thing in the world you want to do when you're running for President is respond to gossip column-type stories."

Regan's suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court this week, claimed her old bosses at HarperCollins and its parent company, News Corp., tried to discredit her to protect Giuliani.

The editor, canned amid controversy as she tried to push O.J. Simpson's supposed tell-all book "If I Did It," had New York's former Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik as a client and a lover.

Kerik, who was mentored by Giuliani, was indicted last week on federal corruption charges.

Regan said her bosses at Rupert Murdoch's media empire were terrified she knew things that could hurt Giuliani's chances of moving into the White House.

They told her to hide documents and lie to federal investigators building a case against her ex-boyfriend, she said.

And they moved to paint her as an "unethical businesswoman devoid of any integrity" by letting her take the fall for the outrage Simpson's book created, she said in her 70-page suit.

"Defendants knew they would be protecting Giuliani if they could preemptively discredit her," the suit said.

Giuliani, a former business partner and friend of Kerik's who installed him as police commissioner while New York's mayor, laughed when asked about the suit at the end of Wednesday's campaign stop.

"I don't respond to the story at all," he said. "I don't know anything about it."

Glenn Beck Gets Fascist Neocon Horowitz on His Show to Lie About Ron Paul

Media shill Glenn Beck continued his attack on Ron Paul Monday (w/ video) as momentum builds, and this time he got David Horowitz on his show to help him out. Beck goes on to paint himself as a libertarian (funny) 'at heart,' and actually had the gall to call Ron Paul and his supporters domestic terrorists, which he advocates using the U.S. military in that hopeful endeavor of stopping us. With the increase of martial law apparatuses coming up in congress and defense preparations against an 'uprising' of level-headed citizens that simply want to take their country back from these criminals, he certainly knows that that is a possibility in the future.

The fact that he had David Horowitz on to help him out is just plain sick. They want to attack anyone that doesn't fold into submission when told these lies about 'islamo-fascists,' homegrown 'terrorists,' and aren't succumbed to what they see on mainstream television. They do that without caring to know why people are getting aware, and simply do what they can to downgrade and ridicule them as dangerous enemies. So who really are the 'domestic terrorists?' Is it the people like Beck and Horowitz that are working against our national interests by spreading lies to the media, or is it supporters of Ron Paul? The info war rages on.

Then comes a plummy Brit who I think is one of Bertie Wooster’s friends from the Drones Club. Then Beck gets to the real point: we are a right-wing peace movement. And being for peace means you want to kill people, whereas being for war means you want peace, if I may distill the agitprop.

Indeed, we are seeing Murray Rothbard’s dream come true; the Old Right, the pre-neocon, pre-Buckley right is back: for freedom and peace, sound money and keeping the fruits of your labor.

Next David Horowitz decries the “strain of isolationism and anarchism” in America, especially as represented by “libertarian websites like LewRockwell.com,” which are “totally in bed with the Islamofascists and have turned against this country.” By country, of course, he means the imperial presidency’s war-spying-torturing-taxing-planning apparatus.

Harwood Types Up Another Go at Ron Paul Hate

John Harwood is a... well he doesn't really deserve a description. All I'll say (if you've been living under a rock) is that he is a status quo writer for CNBC, he likes Pinocchio Giuliani, and has been at war with Ron Paul supporters since the GOP economy debate on CNBC. Now he is out to get Ron Paul more than ever. Likewise, the status quo warriors have all been out in full force this year with their anti-American rhetoric and ridiculing. Harwood has increasingly made himself think for months that Ron Paul has no chance of winning, and that his amount of supporters is somehow irrelevant. The only polls that matter to these people are the telephone polls (any poll that Paul doesn't win) that often don't even mention his name. This is becoming a common occurrence on NBC's networks, and it points out that supporters of freedom, the constitution, and the rule of law have much work to do in order to get out the word that there is a new force in politics, so that common not-knowing citizens can get educated on what's really happening in their country.

Harwood is hardly popular, and disagreed with often, but never was he called out on his disinformation in a way that raised his eyebrows like when the huge unmatched internet support for Ron Paul decided to vote (their right) on the online poll put on by CNBC's website after the GOP 'debate' on the economy that was covered by their network. They ended up dropping the poll and deleting its existence, infuriating Paul supporters because of foul play claims (only because a status quo candidate was not favored) that were not true. He retorted back several times to pissed off supporters, and made a name of himself in the Paul campaign. Now he is back with another little article bashing the Paul campaign after its big fundraising haul this week, stating the usual that Paul has no chance, and that supporters are simply wasting their time and money. He has provided a little hate poll asking whether or not people think Ron Paul has a chance, but most likely added it in for more ridicule in the future. These kind of hate pieces against liberty will only increase as Paul gets closer to moving past his original goal of $12 million for this quarter. They are scared, and they have every reason to be.

Our new NBC News-Wall Street Journal Poll provides one more occasion for supporters of Ron Paul to face the music. Yes, he raised an impressive $5-million in the third quarter, matching John McCain. Yes, he recently hauled in an eye-popping $4-million in 24 hours using the Internet. And heaven knows his supporters have demonstrated the ability to win post-debate online polls (see below), and to fill my e-mail inbox.

But look at the national numbers, Team Paul: he gets 4% in the Republican primary, far behind leaders Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney.

Among Republicans just 11% rate him favorably--fewer than the 12% of Republicans who rate Hillary Clinton favorably! Nineteen percent rate him unfavorably, putting the libertarian-minded Texas Congressman in negative territory.

With numbers like that, Paul cannot win ANY contest on the Republican primary calendar, much less the presidency.

Could that change in a big way? Possibly, but anyone who bets on it would be foolish.

Desperate McCain Seeks $3 Million Loan

John McCain is ready to finally take out that loan for his hopeless campaign, even though it goes against his past opinions on anything like that. He wants $3 million to fund advertising in early election states, and a handout from the bank to keep up with the other candidates. He has already been relying on independently organized advertising in early states. He is rising in some polls somehow, but that momentum he thinks he has is obviously not translating into enthusiasm or cash. This is obviously a last ditch effort to curve Ron Paul's huge rise in New Hampshire, which will be the end of Mr. WMD McCain's campaign if he doesn't win.

McCain wrote a strict 2002 campaign finance law and has criticized independent advertising in the past. His aides said they had no knowledge of or involvement in any outside efforts.

Reed is not new to independent advertising efforts during presidential campaigns. He was the media strategist who co-produced a series of ads in 2004 by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, who questioned Democratic nominee John Kerry's service in Vietnam. McCain, at the time, condemned those ads.

The new group, a 501(c)4 nonprofit corporation under IRS regulations, is not required to disclose its donors, unlike political campaign and political action committees the Federal Election Commission covers.

Reed would not disclose donor identities. Asked if they were McCain supporters, he said, "Some are, maybe even all at this point."

He said the group is designed to promote a strong national security, limits in spending and vigorous anti-terrorism efforts while identifying leaders who best reflect the group's positions.

"Right now Senator McCain seems to be the closest to the group's views," Reed said. Others, he said, include South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and Arizona Rep. John Shadegg; both appear in the first ad and both have endorsed McCain.

A disclaimer at the bottom of the group's Web site states: "As a qualified nonprofit organization, Foundation for a Secure and Prosperous America may on occasion use some of its funds for political purposes such as supporting or opposing persons who happen to be candidates."

Said McCain spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker: "The McCain campaign does not coordinate with any outside groups that are making or planning to make independent expenditures in the presidential election."

CNN Suprises by Calling their Fellow Media Colleagues Out on Ignoring Ron Paul

CNN has been really the only mainstream television network picking up Ron Paul's $4.2+ million haul with any enthusiasm and lack of disgusting bias. MSNBC has talked about it some, but it was mostly on their early morning shows, and they consistently brought on anchors and guests that put him down. No matter the underlying reasons, CNN actually called out their fellow media on the lack of Ron Paul coverage Tuesday, and even offered some pretty shocking (but not really) proof. They pointed out that a tracking company has tallied that Ron Paul has gotten only 4695 references since August 2006, compared to that of John McCain, who has a ridiculous 95,005. The status quo is surely having a tougher time this year shutting reason up. Ridiculing their critics doesn't work anymore.

Scumbag Neocon Pat Robertson Endorses Pinocchio

Pat Robertson has endorsed Rudolph. Now there's a pair. The fact that this was news today is astonishing. Pat Robertson should be institutionalized, not to mention forbidden of any media attention at all. Yes, of all 'evangelicals' Pinocchio Giuliani could muster up support from, he welcomes an endorsement from this Christian Coalition hateful clown. A vote for Giuliani is a vote for Pat Robertson. They're both lying idiots.

“To me, the overriding issue before the American people is the defense of our population against the blood lust of Islamic terrorism,” he said.

Giuliani fought for Robertson's endorsement for months, hoping to boost his conservative credentials.

“Having him aboard gives us a great deal of confidence because he has tremendous insights into what the main issues are, how they should be dealt with,” said the former mayor. “His advice is invaluable.”

Ron Paul Supporters Raise Over $4.2 Million

One could have projected this type of turnout after a couple of slow weeks for donations to the Ron Paul campaign, but it is still a rather big shock for the majority of supporters. There was such an overload in credit card transactions that donations were still literally backlogged shortly after midnight last night. The majority of press has been considerably fair with a few good surprises, but there are still plenty out there that don't like the idea of liberty or government accountability. They might find little ways to ridicule this accomplishment no matter what, but there are many more events like this already in place, and if four million isn't enough, maybe raising more than $12 million for the quarter will be.

One of the Finest Examples of Disgusting Hit Pieces Against Truth and Ron Paul

The National Ledger is an absolute joke of a news publication basically based on purposefully wrong mainstream media agendas and useless pop culture tabloid blabber. So it's not so much of a surprise that they would release such a hateful article on such a huge day for the Ron Paul campaign, and the fact that the editors allowed this to be published shows that they don't exactly have a problem with what was said. Any other articles on the site that might have been intentionally somewhat unbiased are pretty much irrelevant now. The hit pieces today will be massive in order for them to try and counter any sort of positive media coverage, and this is the first one that has really caught my eye so far.

Ron Paul likely won't win a single presidential primary. He's awful on television and even worse in debates. Still his rabid wild eyed supporters that range from the anti-war crowd to tin foil hat wearing nuts to white supremacists to Libertarians that dream of "taking back" the Republican Party will definitely heap some cash on the 71-year old doctor from Texas.

I think that's accurate. That is a lot of cash. But what good will it really do? Paul's message has a very narrow appeal and no matter how much money he rakes in it won't bring people over to his campaign besides his fringe supporters. Worse - he's dry on television, (his Leno appearance failed miserably to create any mainstream buzz) and when he does get a little fired up in debates his voice turns into a high pitched squeal.

Handicapping him on electability is quite simple. He can't make it. There's no Ron Paul sound bite that ever plays well and he has no charisma. Paul is very intelligent, but that really doesn't help in a nationwide election. He also has some very good ideas, but one has to wade through to much tripe just to hear them.

Rudy Giuliani's Campaign Lies Again; 9/11 Commission Report Leaked

Rudy Giuliani's 9/11 Commission testimony in 2004 was not supposed to be released until after next year's elections, but apparently it has leaked out, and The Village Voice got a hold of it. Giuliani and his campaign staff have been possibly the biggest liars of all the presidential candidates, and that is not a small feat by any means. The puzzling part of this is that he has been caught time and time again, yet he is still labeled as the front runner, oddly enough. Elections are a fraud, and this is evidence enough. Anyone that supports this guy needs to have their head examined.

In a recent broadside deriding the Clinton administration's response to Al Qaeda, Rudy Giuliani told an audience at Pat Robertson's Regent University: "Bin Laden declared war on us. We didn't hear it. I thought it was pretty clear at the time, but a lot of people didn't see it, couldn't see it." Other tenets of his standard stump speech include the assertion that he's been "studying terrorism" for more than 30 years, and that "the thing that distinguishes me on terrorism is that I have more experience in dealing with it" than the other presidential candidates.

However, in private testimony before the 9/11 Commission in 2004, Rudy gave a very different version of how much he knew about terrorism when the World Trade Center was attacked. That testimony isn't scheduled to be released publicly until after the 2008 presidential election, but the Voice has obtained a copy of it. And it reveals a New York mayor who was anything but an "expert on terrorism."

Pennsylvania Refuses to Release List of Polling Places in Fear of 'Terrorists'

Fearmongering is so bad these days that state officials in Pennsylvania have stated that they will not be releasing their statewide list of polling places this election season in order to "protect the public and the integrity of the voting process." They say they made the decision as an attempt to deter any chance of 'terrorism' that could disrupt the elections, basing it on the 2004 bombing incident that interrupted SPAIN's elections. This is beyond odd. Completely ridiculous. Put out the word everyone that Pennsylvania apparently has a huge 'terrorist' problem we don't know about. Do not visit there under any circumstances if you want to protect yourself.

Critics say concealing the compiled list runs afoul of the state's open records law and makes coordinating statewide voter-mobilization strategies more difficult.

``If the government has a record, and has it in electronic form, they should release it to any citizen who requests it,'' said Stephanie Frank Singer, founder of a Philadelphia consulting firm that provides customized lists and data collection for political campaigns and nonprofit groups.

Singer said she is considering challenging the decision.

It's unclear how many other states compile similar lists, and whether the ones that do make them available to the public.

The comprehensive list helps candidates for statewide office coordinate volunteer get-out-the-vote efforts, Singer said.

Romney Gets Schooled By 15 Year Old

Thursday was another tough day for Mitt Romney in New Hampshire. This time it wasn't because of a wheelchair-bound muscular dystrophy sufferer, but a 15 year old sophomore in high school. The topic was Romney's flip-flopping 'views' on gay marriage and abortion, and how in the world anyone can actually believe a word the man says. Apparently his campaign's 'Ask Mitt anything' is backfiring, but it's not surprising considering his ridiculously shoddy views on important issues and total lack of principles.

Kevin Daly got a lesson Thursday in Presidential Politics 101.

The sophomore at Phillips Exeter Academy pointedly asked Republican candidate Mitt Romney about his shifting positions on abortion and gay rights.

As governor of Massachusetts, Romney indicated he would not change state laws on abortion rights, now he opposes abortion. During the 1994 Senate campaign in Massachusetts, Romney indicated he would be a better advocate for gay rights than rival Democrat Edward M. Kennedy.

"How can any of your campaign promises be trusted?" Daly asked.

Romney suggested the 15-year-old from Weston, Mass., had falsely stated that he favored gay marriage in 1994.

Around and around the two went, with Daly referring to a New York Times report about the gay rights pledge. The second time through, he mistakenly said the story detailed a "gay marriage" pledge.

That was enough for Romney.

"Even The New York Times hasn't said I'll be stronger on gay marriage than Ted Kennedy, even The New York Times," Romney said. "I've never been an advocate of gay marriage."

McCain Skips Out on DREAM Act Vote; Possibly to Save Face in His Hopeless Campaign?

As expected, the covert new old DREAM Act bill was put to a quick vote around lunchtime today. The vote was to move it forward, and it failed by votes of 52-44, amusingly enough after bill sponsor Dick Durbin had the last word before vote, going on a little ignorant spiel about "these are kids and we're doing this for the children." Afterwards [the vote], and not all that surprising, Harry Reid got up on his little podium and explained that he was discussing with the Republicans on what to do next. So this is far from over, and I mean before the Senate adjourns for the year; the nightmare doesn't stop here by any means.

But anyway, what was odd today was that mister immigration flip-flopper himself wasn't there, presidential candidate John McCain. Why would he miss out on a vote on one of the hottest issues? It looks like if you consider yourself a legitimate candidate that you wouldn't allow yourself to miss a vote such as this, standing up for the very issue that you've been being ridiculed on since you began. Have fun answering those questions on the campaign trail, John.

McCain's campaign offered no explanation for why he sat out the vote.

"Sen. McCain had to catch a flight to Iowa right after the Southwick vote," the spokesman said in an e-mail to the Huffington Post. "I'm sure he'll address the issue in more detail in Iowa."

McCain's campaign announced yesterday that he was skipping "his New Hampshire events scheduled for tomorrow, October 24th, to return to Washington to vote on the nomination of Judge Leslie Southwick to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit."

Hillary Said She'd Give Up 'Some Powers'

Let us not forget who this is coming from. Hillary Clinton said in an interview with the UK's Guardian America that she would in fact be 'willing' to part with 'some' of the unconstitutional executive powers snatched up by the Bush administration. She went on to sidestep a few last questions, but before that scarily mentioned Abraham Lincoln's suspension of habeas corpus, obviously stating her apparent approval for a 'temporary' situation such as that, even though what Lincoln did clearly goes against the constitution, of what she is attempting to show support for in this interview. She is clearly letting it be known that she has all the power in the world as president to do the things that the Bush administration did, only she doesn't wish to make them 'permanent.' She says she would do away with 'some' powers, as if that is a logistical answer. There is nothing in the interview that should sway anyone's opinion of her as being nothing more than a neocon sheep in wolves clothing, but if she does plan on speaking up more on these anti-American executive powers, she better be quite aware of her past.

Romney Calls UN a Failure; But for Snake-like Reasons

Mitt Romney said this morning in South Carolina that the UN is a failure, and proposed a new coalition of 'free nations of the world' to cater the needs of the greater good, or rather U.S./Israel interests. He thinks this because, in his mind, the UN is too tough on Israel, and lets slide anything going on in the Arab world. Romney has repeatedly fed the interests of his biggest campaign donors since he entered the race, which in large part are the very wealthy Jewish pro-Israel contributors. They are is his main financiers, and he is merely speaking for them, not the American people. So this is not surprising that he would come out and say something like this, considering he's about to be looking at the behind of Ron Paul as far as campaign funding and momentum goes. One can't help but remember in January when he took a lengthy trip to Israel to do just this. He purposefully skipped visiting Gaza. He is willing to ignore the numerous human rights violations, with the same old excuses that Israel is getting an 'unfair deal.' Maybe he should put down the European Union, Great Britain, China, and others for their opposition to things like the increasing sanctions on Gaza. Romney is simply looking out for his campaign's pocket, trying to keep up with the momentum of Ron Paul.

One thing that was said in the actual article caught my eye:

The Romneys have five sons and ten grandchildren. Of the leading Republicans in the presidential contest, Romney is the only one who has not been divorced.

The last time I checked, polygamy has played a part in Romney's life. And as even confirmed by the Republican National Committee, Ron Paul is a now a 'top-tier' candidate. As you should know, Paul has been married for 50+ years, and has never been divorced. I guess the writer just forgot...

'Hillary Clinton Would Use Violence Against Tehran'

Well, duh. That was the title of an article Monday in the UK's Guardian Unlimited stating:

In an article for Foreign Affairs magazine intended as a blueprint for the foreign policy of a future Clinton White House, the Democratic frontrunner argues that Iran poses a long term strategic challenge to American and its allies, and that it must not be permitted to build or acquire nuclear weapons.

"If Iran does not comply with its own commitments and the will of the international community, all options must remain on the table," Ms Clinton said.

Elsewhere, Ms Clinton took the edge off her steely posture by saying she would abandon the Bush administration's policy of isolating its enemies, and would deploy diplomacy.

"True statesmanship requires that we engage with our adversaries, not for the sake of talking but because robust diplomacy is a prerequisite to achieving our aims."

She says she would even consider offering incentives to Iran in return for a pledge to disarm. However, she sets out a series of stringent conditions that are virtually identical to current White House policy.

"If Iran is in fact willing to end its nuclear weapons programme, renounce sponsorship of terrorism, support Middle East peace, and play a constructive role in stabilising Iraq, the United States should be prepared to offer Iran a carefully calibrated package of incentives," Ms Clinton wrote.

The only reason Clinton hasn't been willing to disclose any of her foreign policy plans is because she doesn't want to be seen as the warmongering constitution-shredding dictator that she aims to be. If her supporters can't read between these lines here, we may really have a problem. As usual, Hillary is looking out for ol' number one, Israel. The only question is, where does that leave Americans? Number two? Iran does not pose a threat to the U.S. Israel has the right to defend itself with nukes, but Iran doesn't have the right to start its own nuclear energy program? Perhaps she should address some of the things that Israel is doing, like not helping us one bit. They are a useless ally that follows no rules but their own, and have shown time and time again that they could care less about our safety. What I don't understand is how voters can not be seriously tired of them using our military as pawns in their sick demagogic game. We all know where the majority of Clinton's campaign funds come from. If Israel wants it, Israel will get it with a Clinton White House.
